1. Scope

1. 1.1This policy explains how History & Time Tracker (the Extension) handles data. Contact details are available on the Contact page.
2. 1.2The Extension accesses browsing history solely to provide local history storage, search, browsing-time statistics, export, and cleanup features. The developer does not receive this history.

2. Information processed locally and its use

1. 2.1Browsing records: page URLs, titles, domains, opening times, closing times, and estimated active duration, used to display records by date, support search and visit details, and provide statistics. On first use, the Extension imports history that Chrome still retains; imported records do not contain browsing time from before installation.
2. 2.2Website icons are displayed through Chrome's built-in local favicon service using the saved page URL. The Extension does not separately collect or upload favicon URLs.
3. 2.3Browsing time is estimated and processed locally to provide browsing-time statistics.
4. 2.4Settings: language, theme, font size, time and date formats, popup behavior, chart style, cleanup rules, and domain lists, used to preserve your preferences.
5. 2.5The Extension does not read page content, passwords, or keyboard input, and does not ask for your name, phone number, or payment information.

3. Storage and use of data

1. 3.1Browsing records are stored in the Extension's database on your current device. Settings are stored in the browser's local extension storage. The Extension provides no cloud account, cloud sync, or server backup.
2. 3.2The Extension does not upload any data or personal information. The developer therefore does not receive, sell, share, or use your browsing records for advertising or profiling.
3. 3.3Browser data is used only on your device to provide the Extension's user-facing features. The Extension contains no advertising or third-party behavioral analytics service.
4. 3.4The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

4. Permissions and their purposes

The following permissions support existing Extension features. Additional permissions for clearing browsing data are requested only when you use the relevant feature.

1. 4.1history: Imports existing Chrome history and deletes matching history in response to your actions or cleanup settings.
2. 4.2tabs: Provides the tab information needed for history records and browsing-time statistics.
3. 4.3webNavigation: Detects page navigation and updates visit records.
4. 4.4idle: Helps estimate browsing time.
5. 4.5storage: Saves settings, cleanup rules, and state required during recording.
6. 4.6favicon: Uses Chrome's built-in favicon service to display website icons based on saved page URLs.
7. 4.7browsingData (optional): At your explicit request, instructs Chrome to clear selected cookies, cache, site data, download history, or form data for the selected time range. Site data may include Cache Storage, file-system data, IndexedDB, Local Storage, and service workers. The Extension does not read the contents of this data. History, search, and time statistics remain available if you do not grant this optional permission.

5. Retention and your controls

1. 5.1Automatic cleanup is off by default. When enabled, it removes extension records and Chrome history older than the retention period you select. Otherwise, extension records remain on your device until you delete them, uninstall the Extension, or remove the relevant local browser data.
2. 5.2You can view, search, and export records or run a manual cleanup. Selecting history in a manual cleanup removes both extension records and Chrome history for the selected time range. Optional browsing-data types are cleared only when you select them and grant the required permission. You are responsible for storing exported CSV files.
3. 5.3The Do Not Record list excludes future visits to selected domains; existing records must be deleted separately. The Keep During Automatic Cleanup list preserves selected extension records, but Chrome's time-range history deletion cannot exclude individual domains.
4. 5.4You can disable or uninstall the Extension at any time from Chrome's extension management page. The developer holds no copy of your history and cannot remotely view, modify, or restore your local records.

6. Policy updates

1. 6.1If the Extension's data handling changes, this policy and its last-updated date will be revised. Material changes to data use or permissions will also be disclosed in the relevant release information.
